Sean has been compared to CCM artists Chris Tomlin and Joel
Hanson of PFR, and
you'll hear the influence of a variety of groups such as Bread,
and, of course, The
Beatles in his music but with a fresh, original sound. Sean's
fans always comment
on the strength and beauty of his vocals and the sincerity of
his message. Through his original music, Sean helps you feel and
experience the power of God's love.
In concert, Sean combines original music from his albums with
popular contemporary Christian / Catholic music. He often
includes some old favorites and fun songs to enhance the
experience. He weaves in stories about his spiritual and
personal life, including coping with the death of his mother and
humorous anecdotes about marriage and life with children. He
takes his audience on an emotional journey celebrating the joy
of Christ's love as well as the sorrow that accompanies life's
struggles. engaging the audience with fun-loving and serious
songs that motivate listeners of all ages to sing-a-long. Sean's
music creates an active, prayerful experience for his audience -
making the listener want to hear this music over and over again.
Through it all, his message resonates hope.
Sean has been performing contemporary Christian music in Central
New York since 2002 in various churches and coffeehouses and has
recorded three solo albums. He has served as the music director
at St. Anthony's Church in Chadwicks, NY since 1994.
While attending Colgate University, he sang second tenor with
the Colgate Thirteen - an all-male acapella group - serving as
the group's leader in his senior year.
His most recent CD, Amazed (2007), contains 12 original songs
with a contemporary pop sound. Through Amazed, God has provided
Sean opportunities to perform his music to a wider audience.
Recently he taped a half hour segment of EWTN's Backstage and a
Christmas special which will air in late 2007-2008. The title
track of the CD, Amazed, was chosen for Spirit Wing Records
Catholic Music 2007 compilation CD and also the 2007 Eucharistic
Congress Youth Summit Compilation CD (Canada). The song
was chosen as the 2006 Grand Award Winner in the Song Door
International Songwriting Competition (www.songdoor.com) and as
an Honor Award winner in the 2007 Great American Song Contest (www.greatamericansong.com).
Sean hopes Amazed will "lift people's spirits and give them a
chance to be thankful for the blessings of life and love, for
the joy in this world, for the gifts God
has poured out on us through Jesus Christ, the church, our
faith, and our families. "I hope people have a joyful listening
experience. After listening to the CD, I hope they say, 'that
was great! Thank you God,' then hit replay."
Sean also collaborates with Jennifer Collins to combine music,
prayer, and
scripture, and reflection in a dynamic, interactive retreat
experience. Whether it's a two hour session on a weeknight or a
day-long retreat, Sean and Jennifer tailor their presentation to
meet the needs of any group. Past topics have included Mary, the
Mother of God and Lenten Reflections.
Sean lives in upstate New York with his wife and four children.
By candidly sharing his experiences as a husband and father
trying to respond to God's call, Sean invites listeners to
reflect on their own relationships with God and their families.
